Patriots Pull Through

Sunday, February 1, was Super bowl Sunday. The New England Patriots were victorious with score of 28-24 over the Seattle Seahawks. For those who watched the game and not just the commercials, it turned into a real nail-biter.

After being in the Super Bowl the previous year, Seattle’s strong defense was hoping to win back-to-back championship titles. This looked like a hopeful possibility when Katy Perry took the stage at halftime. Going into halftime the score was tied 14-14, even though the first quarter remained scoreless.

As the game continued, Seattle took their first lead of the game during the 3rd quarter with a touchdown thrown to Doug Baldwin. However, for the first time in Super Bowl history a team overcame a fourth quarter deficit of more than 7 points.

The Seahawks had a chance to get a touchdown and win the game. However, one single play sent all Seahawks into a depression when they realized the game was over.

One of the coaches for the Seahawks has received plenty of criticism since the game on Sunday on the decision to call a pass play instead of running the ball.

Many fans and spectators could not believe this call. The most prominent reason being that the Seahawks have Marshawn Lynch who has been virtually unstoppable this past season. The play resulted in an interception with 26 seconds left in play.

At this point, I’m sure many Super Bowl viewers could be heard saying, “Well, that’s the end of that.” This was probably followed my screams of happiness or tears of absolute defeat.
