Panther Prep and on B days Academic Time (AT), has been the hot topic of MHS recently, Mehlville Media had a chance to look deeper into the changes of the school year.
For the 24-25 school year, students and staff were introduced to Infinite Campus, an app that provides grades, attendance, and a bunch of other information for students and staff.
With this new app, comes a new schedule. Mehlville Media had a chance to interview a student and one of the assistant principals and get their perspective on these new changes to the school year.
In an interview with Assistant Principal Dr. Brian Metteer, he states that this new schedule and (AT) time will help students that are struggling with certain class topics, and help students catch up on work if absent.
“How it impacts students, it maintains the voice of allowing them to choose where they wanna go but it gives them structure to spend time with the selected teacher and make sure they use their (AT) time productively, “ said Metteer.
Sophomore Senad Ramic thinks Panther Prep is a good idea to keep up with work and keep stable grades.
“I think Panther Prep is useful, because I get to work on missing and important work that I need to catch up on. It also helps me maintain a steady grade, and prepare for any tests and quizzes,” said Ramic.
With these changes going on, Administrators can only hope it helps students plan, devote, and commit to their years of high school so that they have a successful yet fun time here at Mehlville High School.
