After anonymously interviewing over a dozen teachers for their opinions on the new format of TAP, Panther-Prep, it’s apparent that there are mixed feelings surrounding it.
Some overlapping responses were:
- ¨Its been a long week.¨
- ¨I love it.¨
- ¨the days have just been dragging on.¨
- ¨It is going to take a lot of patience but is a worthwhile change.¨
- ¨I’m a fan of it.¨
Many thought that Panther-Prep seems like a good idea but has probably not been introduced the best so far. Most believe that ¨because it’s new everyone is freaking out¨ and they also believe ¨The kinks will get worked out as we progress in the year.¨ No teacher that was interviewed believed that it was a mistake to switch away from TAP. However, all of the teachers who gave their opinions said something along the lines of, ¨It will lead to more purposeful travel¨ or ¨Panther-Prep will allow kids to get the help they need.¨ Although, there are a few concerns. The most glaring of these problems is ¨Mega-days,¨ teachers believe that they have give students ¨too much free-time,¨ and also ¨has gotten students into bad habits of the rip.¨ Overall, teachers are ¨hopeful that it will fix some of TAP´s issues,¨ and ¨[Panther-Prep] will have a positive impact on sports and clubs, not only classes.¨
