Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55, other known as I-55 raceway is a 1/3-mile dirt track located in Pevely, Mo.
The track hosts weekly Saturday night races with many car classes such as DIRTcar Super Late Models, UMP Modifieds (A-Mod), UMP Pro Modifieds (B-Mod), AARA Sportsman, and AARA Pro 4 Stocks.
This track is also known for hosting big events such as the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, many tribute races, and the biggest event of the year, the Ironman-55, bringing the best World of Outlaw 410 sprint car drivers.
The track was owned by former NASCAR star Ken Schrader and co-owned by Ray Marler. Schrader and Marler have run the track for many years and as the year comes to a close, Brownstown Speedway owner Josh Caroll has bought out the historic I-55 Speedway.
Carroll shared his thoughts on Facebook.
“I would just like to show my appreciation of all the supporting Facebook messages, the 100 calls, texts, and messages I have revived over the last few days. I have tried to answer as many messages as possible.”
Carroll also posted that more information will be released soon as things finalize.
Many fans and racersĀ have exclaimed there appreciation to Caroll for buying out the historic track, taking the pressure off of Marler and Schrader as the years go by. They also appreciate making minimal changes to make the racing world a better place.
