Recently it was announced to the public that TikTok, an app used by many people across the world, will be banned in the U.S. on Jan. 19, 2025.
TikTok has been a social media platform where people of all ages can go to watch and also make their own videos.
Sophomore Charlie Sease, disagrees with the ban.
“I think it is a mistake upon the congress, because the app allows kids my age to have a good laugh, or even get their thoughts out,” Sease said.
However, many adults acknowledge concerns. Administrative Assistant Katie Roussin is one of them.
“I use Tiktok for marketing purposes, and I see the addictions among teens and also adults, so I try not to get stuck into the TikTok loop others do,” Roussin said.
As of Jan, 15, Senator Ed Markley announced his plan to introduce legislation to extend the duration that the app is up and active to 270 days.
Many teens and adults alike hope the ban can be postponed even more, and they can continue to enjoy their time with the app.
