On Jan. 9, the girls swim team competed against Rockwood Summit, Eureka, Ursuline, Webster, Affton, Oakville and Parkway North in the annual Nancy Brandt Invitational. But this year the meet took a different approach with the recent weather difficulties.
Allison Miller, a senior swimmer, shared her thoughts on the changed format.
“Even though the Nancy Brandt Invite was only one day instead of two, I liked racing each event only once and was happy with my results and the team’s performance,” Miller said.
With the meet being changed last minute, the girls performed exceptionally with the relays finishing second and third.
Individually, Kara Lowery placed eighth in the 100 butterfly, Allison Miller placed third in the 500 freestyle and Lily Kohler placed first in the 200 individual medley. The swimmers were able to move up in the state placing making the meet their best yet.
