MehlvilleMedia sat down with Ryan Posgay, Junior basketball player to ask him a bit about his long-time talent and hobby.
1. How long have you been playing basketball?
Since 5th grade
2. What is your best basketball memory?
Going to Chicago over the Summer to play in the Five Star Invitation Only Camp
3. Is there a difference in talent between AAU and Mehlville basketball?
Yes, because when you play AAU you have a chance to play against the best talent around the country.
4. What are your goals for the team this year?
To win districts.
5. What are the team’s goals this year?
Go into every game and compete to have a winning season.
6. What position do you play? What does that position do?
Shooting guard. My role on the offensive end is to be a scorer.
7. How do you think the team will do compared to last year?
I think this team will be an improvement from last year.
8. Do you think that this year’s team is better or worse than last year? Why?
Better, because everybody on the team has been dedicated and has worked hard all offseason to prepare.
9. How do you prepare for every game?
Listen to music, and do active stretching to get loose and ready to play.
10. What do you do in the offseason to compare for the upcoming season?
Got in the gym with my AAU coach every day and worked on improving all parts of my game.
11. Who will be the biggest factor to the team this year?
Everybody on the team will be a big factor because no one player can win a game.
12. How much different will varsity be from JV?
Different, the players are bigger, faster, and stronger so it’s important to be mentally and physically ready to play.
