Mehlville High School hosts and supports many student involved clubs. One of these being International Club.
International club is a student involved club that involves teaching, learning, and student led presentations about different cultures around the world.
International club sponsor Daniel Lamping shares what international club is.
” International Club is a student led club that formed about a decade ago, the whole purpose is to celebrate cultural diversity around Mehlville High School, around the Mehlville community and to promote cultural awareness,”
Lamping shares how students presenting brings confidence and expresses cultural differences.
” We’re encouraging kids to make the school a part of their own, you see a demographic of students who are part of the Mehlville community but might not be as engaged in the community as other students. We’re inviting and encouraging kids to share who they are, it opens a door to a sense of belonging,”
Lamping shares a new club he sponsors that also deals with expressing culture.
” Model UN is a club that is also student led where students will put fourth resolutions from the perspective of their country, they get to research their country, issues that their country is facing, and get to engage is discussion and speech and debate to compromise resolutions for their country,”
International Club and Model UN are looking for members willing to join and experience the diversity and differences many students have at Mehlville High School.
