If you are a fan of high intensity suspense, non- stop action, and massive explosions, then Red Dawn is a must see. The story begins in modern day Washington State, where U.S. marine, Jed Eckert (Chris Hemsworth), is in town to visit his family. One morning, however North Korean paratroopers invade their town and Eckert is forced to escape with his brother (Josh Peck) and some of his friends (Josh Hutcherson, Connor Cruise, and Edwin Hodge), to the family’s cabin. After seeing his own father killed Jed leads the group, now calling themselves “The Wolverines” (after their high school mascot), through a mini boot camp to help prepare them to become a rebel force against their Korean invaders. This rebel group launches hit and run attacks on the invaders throughout the movie and tries to achieve the goal of freeing their town and restoring order back to our nation.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and would recommend it to anyone. The plot, although pretty farfetched, is quite intriguing. The idea that this could actually happen is terrifying which makes for a fantastic plot line. The constant questioning of what you would do in this situation haunts you throughout the entire film, which helps keep you on the edge of your seat. The constant twists and turns of the plot help build the extreme suspense throughout the whole movie and the unexpected deaths of characters keep you guessing the whole time. Red Dawn is a must see for this autumn season.
