Mehlville’s very own Esports team had an impressive season last year, finishing fourth in the State Rocket-League championship. This upcoming season may look very different according to Esports sponsor Josh Boyd.
“I have no clue what this seasons going to look like. All brand new players, and our first meeting is next week” said Boyd.
Boyd shared what competitions and practices tend to look like for those who may be interested in joining the team.
“Usually, we can play virtually, so my players will be in one room and the other team can be in a different room, and we get to play and watch the other team play as well,” said Boyd.
As well as Rocket League, the Esports team also plays Overwatch. This year, meetings will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in the library. Boyd hopes that with a fresh new team, this season may be able to top last year’s impressive season.
