Students may know him as a school principal, but there are many things they do not know about him, like his love for traveling.

     With the final semester of the 2012-2013 school year upon us, one thing is coming to an end. Colona’s Principal career.

     Principal Angelo Colona is set to retire at the end of the school year.

     Mr. Colona has been a principal at Mehlville for twenty-two years, but has been in education for forty years now.

     There are many things he likes about Mehlville. His favorite thing about Mehlville are the students. “They are very approachable, hard-working, and fun,” said Colona. He likes how they are good people and can handle situations well.

     He has big plans for the rest of his life. He plans to travel. Traveling is something he has always liked to do.He plans on traveling to Canada first just a few weeks after graduation and then continues on to Florida.

     Another thing he wants to accomplish is to follow the Missouri Tigers football team. He plans to get seasons tickets and follow them across the country attending all of their games.

      His favorite memories at Mehlville include the graduations he has attended. “I love seeing the students faces as they walk across the stage,” said Colona. This year it will not just be the seniors last day as Mehlville Panthers, but also his.

     The end of the year will be bittersweet for him. Leaving something behind, but going on and continuing with a new chapter in his life.
