Holiday Treats: How to Make your Holidays Savory Sweet

It is cold and snowy out. Everyone is getting together for the holidays. It is your turn to impress your friends with some yummy treats. These delicious peanut butter bars are super quick and easy to make. Just follow the next 10 steps!

 

1. Gather everything you will need:

 

1 cooking pot, large

1 lightly buttered 9×13 pan (Non-stick will work as well).

1 cup corn syrup

1 cup sugar

1 jar of peanut butter

6 cups of rice crispy cereal

1 cup chocolate chips

1 bowl

 

2. Pour the cup of sugar and cup of corn syrup into the large pot. Place on heated stove and bring to a boil. Stir well and remove from heat once it is boiled.

3. Add one cup of peanut butter and stir everything together.

4. Pour the 6 cups of rice crispy cereal into the stirred peanut butter. Make sure mix well and get all the cereal covered.

5. Pour into the 9×13 pan and spread it out. Pat it down with a large spoon and let it cool.

While you wait for it to cool, prepare the frosting.

6. Pour 1 cup of chocolate chips into the bowl

7.  Add the rest of the peanut butter from the jar in with the chocolate chips

8. Melt in the microwave, until it is soft and smooth.

9. Pour over peanut butter bars and spread it out evenly.

10. Wait about 30-40 minutes before cutting the bars, so they can cool properly. Then enjoy!
