#LetItGrow: No-Shave November Joins American Cancer Society in Raising Awareness

The time of the year has come when many decide not to partake in the use of a razor. These hairy 30 days are commonly known as No-Shave November. Most assume that not shaving during this month is just something to participate in for fun. Some think it is just plain gross. What many do not realize is No-Shave November is an actual organization that has joined with The American Cancer Society to help raise awareness.

So while you are letting your beard grow longer or your armpit hair blow in the breeze, No-Shave November encourages you to spend those saved up shaving cream dollars on the ACS.

If you are like me and prefer to keep your legs smooth and hair free, there are still ways you can support the cause. Use social media and raise awareness by posting No-Shave November’s logo and how they help fight back cancer. You can still donate money for cancer prevention, too.
No-Shave November has also partnered with Dairy Queen, Dr Pepper, and Newton Running Company. So if you do decide to take part in letting your hair grow, you can raise awareness by taking a picture of it on Facebook or Twitter and hashtag either #ChickenStache, #NewtonRunning or #5MileShadow. These companies will then donate one dollar to No-Shave November for every picture posted in the month.

The organization provides flyers, brochures and more information on their website  www.no-shave.org. They also sell hoodies and merchandise supporting the cause, and all of the money goes toward preventing the disease. So whether you decide to shave or not to shave, you can spread the world and help fight back cancer.
