Highlighting memories to look at years and years from now is just one of many of the things that the yearbook club does.

Students should join yearbook because it can open up so many different opportunities. If you’re like me, you would have probably thought it’ll be more about journalism skills but it plays such a bigger role than that. In Yearbook you can learn how to work with other people and really help get out of your shell, and become more comfortable working with a larger group. Yearbook also can help with photography and graphic design and layout.

Yearbook is a class that you can put on your schedule for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, and the requirement to join is that you must have a C average GPA to join. Mehlville teacher Cora Stout is the teacher for yearbook and has been for 25 years.

“Some people might think that Yearbook is now using that much technology because they only look at the finished product which is an actual physical book, but it’s all being done on the computer, and these skills could help you get a job. Yearbook can help with photography and graphic design and layout, If that is the field that you want your job to be in the future”. Cora Stout, Yearbook teacher at Mehlville.
