As the baseball season approaches, the team is getting better every day with a strong preseason and an ever stronger coach.
Coach Ode strives to make his players better, by not just focusing on fitness during preseason, but also getting ahead of the game by getting game ready and working with the ball.
As being conference champions last season Coach Ode’s goals are set high.
“We’re trying to continue our winning ways, and set our sights on a district championship, and even make a state run with the guys we have,” Ode said.
Coach Ode also emphasized a competitive team culture, where starting spots are earned by effort and performance, not seniority, which Coach Ode made it very clear he prioritizes skill and he believes your spot on the team should be earned. This coaching strategy pushes competitiveness and players to improve daily.
Overall excitement is very high for the upcoming season. Ode’s got a handful of players who won the conference last season and he is looking forward to repeating.
Confidence, Preparation and competition are very important as the team gets ready to take the field.
The baseball program is entering focused and ready to continue the winning standard (18-8) the team set last year.
