Most people know Dr. Arbini as a math teacher, but outside of the classroom, he has a prominent hobby that many people do not expect – photography.
Arbini has been teaching for 21 years throughout those years he has taught AP stats, Prealgebra, Geometry and Algebra 2. But even with all these numbers, photography has stuck with him throughout all this time.
He first got into photography when he was little, using his grandparents camera while participating in a summer class. It started off simple like most hobbies that stick, but later he saw that he enjoyed it and he got more serious about buying the things needed. So he found equipment wherever he would like at a garage sale. Then he kept upgrading and investing in better equipment when he saw he really enjoyed it and was going to keep on doing it.
¨I really like wildlife photography,¨Arbini said. ¨I enjoyed the challenge of actually finding something like an eagle or bear and then trying to get a great photo.¨
He explains how It feels similar to sports, with the ups and downs, and of course of the competitive energy that comes behind anything that you’re passionate about, which is something he’s always liked.Â
Something that makes his photography different from most others is that he never really has a plan. At times he’ll go out with something on his mind that he wants to take a photo of but most of the time he takes photos of whatever catches his eye in the moment and whatever he’s interested in at the time.
Photography is his way to capture moments outside of the classroom that would be missed and record them into his own mind and album.Â
