If you’re looking for a place where the coffee cups are always full and the pancakes taste like they were made in your grandma’s kitchen, Dave’s Diner might just be your new morning habit.
Dave’s Diner is a small diner known for its breakfast and 24-hour service. Their welcoming hospitality, heartfelt food and overall mood adds to their reputation.
They have many locations, but fellow classmate Lazar Kovacic and I visited the Affton location, off of South Lindbergh Blvd.
Upon entering the diner, we immediately noticed the pleasant atmosphere, and appetizing aroma that filled the diner.
One of the kind servers greeted us, and explained we can sit wherever we please.
I ordered their French Toast, and Biscuits and Gravy, while Lazar fancied their infamous Big Omelette, which comes with two sides of choice. He chose Hash-browns for both of his, as well as two pieces of Toast(not pictured), which also come with the Big Omelette. We both chose the classic Dr. Pepper for beverages, and for Desert, Lazar ordered their Chocolate Sundae (not pictured).
Within seconds of us taking our seats, we were greeted by our server, and informed of their specials and popular choices.
We received our food within 20 minutes of ordering, which was very surprising, as they were extremely busy that morning, not to mention there were only two people working there.
Lazar and I were immediately blown away by the proportions, they were overwhelmingly large, covering the entire table with appetizing plates of homemade delights.
After receiving our food, our server checked in with us multiple times to ensure that our experience was the best it could be.
The hospitality we were shown there is incomparable to any fast food restaurant, not to mention the affordability of the establishment.
We received our check, totaling around $30 for the two of us, and considering the surplus of food we ordered and received, we were very pleased with the pricing.
We tipped generously to the two hardworking charismatic ladies there, and were on our way, not without grabbing some candy from their candy bowl of course though.
We rate the experience a 4.8 out of 5 stars, a near perfect score.
If you’re ever in the area, looking for a homemade meal on the road, Dave’s Diner should definitely be on the top of your list.
