Swords clash with shields, screams across the battlefield. Two leaders stand in between, “For the Horde!” is heard from Sylvanas as she draws an arrow. “For the Alliance!” is screamed from the new king, Anduin Wrynn. This is no real battle, but one being fought on a computer screen.

The new expansion for World of Warcraft is coming soon. Gamers all across Mehlville and the world are getting ready to play. News has heard about the allied races and their new features along with the release date; which is before or in the month of September 2018.

World of Warcraft’s new expansion, Battle For Azeroth, has brought excitement within players across the globe. People are gearing up and fighting to the last minute to get ready. For the Horde, three new races have come about. From the last expansion, the Nightborne, Zandalari Trolls, and Highmountain Tribes are back in action. The Alliance has gotten three new races that have shown their journey throughout the expansions of WOW. The Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarves, and the Void Elves are new throughout this game. Many people are starting to find out what these characters are like and how they work.

For the Alliance and the Horde, new areas to discover will arise. Kul Tiras is the home of the Alliance. This is the home of one of the many known characters, Jaina Proudmoore. She shows off her home to the Alliance with pride and characters are excited to get in the action. For the Horde, we have the new land of Zandalar, which is a troll dominated area. Unveiling the stories behind the oldest kingdom of World of Warcraft, players are getting ecstatic for the new Horde island.

For both the Horde and the Alliance, we have uncharted areas that will be up to the characters to decide if the Horde or Alliance is taking ownership of that land. Players will face Player v.s. Player (PVP) battles and other monsters to fight for territory or resources. This is important for new people playing the game, because of this never happening in WOW history. This will be new for everyone.

The creators of the game are bringing back the classical part of the game, what people call Vanilla. This is going to be great for the veteran players of the game. The original fights and raids will be unlocked on new Vanilla servers. The Black Temple is just one of the many raids that is coming back to the game. Raids are about 25-40 characters fighting in one group to destroy bosses. The old parts of the game are coming back better than when they originally came out.Veterans of the game are incredibly nervous to find out what the cleaner version of the old raids are like.

One thing has changed about the game already, leveling. Scaling and leveling your character is going to get easier as you can stay in one zone to reach a certain level. Some areas go from level 20 to level 60. This is important to know for any incoming players or veterans of the game.

As new characters are added and more gameplay is unlocked, some students at Mehlville and people across the world are excited. Descriptions of the four new races that have come out in the pre-order of the game are on the sides of Horde or Alliance.

The Nightborne

The Nightborne are a race of elves that have isolated themselves from the rest of the world (Azeroth) about ten thousand years ago. They grew from an energy called the Nightwell, and evolved from their former selves. These elves fought against a greater evil during what World of Warcraft lore calls the War of the Ancients. Taller than the average elf, these blue-purple skinned characters are more than what you’d expect. With their skills in writing, magic, and healing, these elves are ready to fight against the Alliance.

Highmountain Tribes

During the War of the Ancients, a great Tauren lead many battles. His name was Huln Highmountain.  When he defeated a great demon, he was blessed by a great druid named Cenarius. As he was blessed from Cenarius, he was given the Horns of Eche’ro. He took his people and united them under one leader. When Huln died the next leader took place, and so on. During the last expansion, Legion, the Highmountain tribe began to fight the greater evil, the Burning Legion. The Battle for Azeroth shows off the Highmountain tribe in a new light.

Lightforged Draenei

The Lightforged Draenei are a race of Draenei that have been infused with the holy light of the Paladins. They have fought long and hard against the Burning Legion. With the upcoming battle between the Alliance and the Horde, they stuck to their gut, and stayed with the Alliance. They are ready to show what they got in this next expansion. Be ready to play an amazing race of characters.

Void Elves

The Void Elves, or Ren’dorei (children of the void), are a race of elves that have been affected by the sister of Sylvanas Windrunner (the leader of the horde), Alleira. Alleria gained powers from a master of the Void, after going through a gruesome fight. During the next expansion, you can play this character as a strong ranged or melee elf.
