Despite having a smaller team than other schools in the area, our Mehlville boys wrestling squad is fired up and ready to go. They’re determined to not let the difference in roster size affect them.
With the new season, we asked wrestlers Jason Rayborn (12) and Curtis McGee (11) about their responsibilities, aspirations, and their advice for other wrestlers.
Rayborn shared some of his responsibilities.
“I need to make sure everybody is doing the right thing, not only on the mat, but off the mat too,” said Rayborn.
Both Rayborn and McGee have high expectations for themselves and for the team. Both of them want the team to do well and beat Oakville this year especially.
“I want the other wrestlers to realize how much potential they have, and that they’re capable of more than they think,” said McGee.
The season has already begun, and their first meet is on December 2 at 5 p.m.
