Voodoo, Louisville, or Marucci: What’s the Biggest Bang for Your Buck?

[Review]

A good baseball bat can influence a player’s game. Whether it be it looks good so you play well, a nice weight you can handle, or a barrel-to-handle ratio that works for you. Different players prefer different bats, often influenced by the barrel weight and height.

The three most popular baseball bats on the market currently are the Marucci Cat X, 2024 Louisville slugger atlas and the Voodoo 1 2023.

The Cat X is a one piece alloy bat and Cat X’s purpose is to serve as a bat with a longer barrel that’s a little less thick. The bat is one of if not the most balanced bats on the market because of its longer barrel rather than its thicker barrel making it almost even all the way through and not end-loaded.

The 2024 Atlas which is a redesign with tweaks from the dominant 2023 atlas is also a one piece alloy bat with a balanced swing with a lot of pop, these bats were dominant along with the Cat X in 2023 and are still very dominant in 2024.

The Voodoo 1 while being a less popular pick is still a very popular pick and is once again a one piece alloy with a balanced swing all the way through. While it is very apparent that the balanced swing does seem to be the most popular option among hitters, allowing for better bat speed and a better feel, it does depend on the preference of the hitter.

The Cat X is the best bat on the market. This is my personal bat and it feels so nice to swing and it’s got an absolutely amazing design and you can really hit the heck out of a ball with it and the sound it makes is just unbelievable. However it is the most expensive bat on this list it’ll run you close to $450 while the atlas will run you closer to $400 as well as the Voodoo 1, however if you are on a tighter budget range, the 2023 Atlas will be your best bet which will be closer to $300 (which is the least you’ll pay for a mainstream bat).

I would rate all of these bats a 5 out of 5. All of these bats are incredible, but just because you have a $500 bat, it doesn’t mean it’ll fix a $1 swing.
