Mehlville High School is a place with many clubs people can use as creative outlets, one of them being Drama Club.
Sponsored by the theatre department teacher, Johanna Beck, Drama Club was created as a fun and safe space for all theatre lovers, actors and anyone interested in the genre.
“Drama club is a place for kids who aren’t able to take theatre classes throughout the year,” explained Beck.
Meeting bi-monthly, the club does many fun activities during meetings, such as acting games and acting scenarios.
Aside from theatre activities, the club also holds canned food drives, toy drives and view shows together.
“It’s a good place to hang out [and] meet new people,” said senior member Jos Brown.
The club members often assist in the production of the school’s musicals and plays, the upcoming one being ‘Alice By Heart,’ which will run March 4-7.
Drama club meetings are open to all and people of all grades are welcome to join at any time. Interested students should reach out to Beck in room 101.
